Elizabeth Jenkins, LCSW
Elizabeth Jenkins graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor's degree in psychology and sociology and earned her Master's degree in clinical social work from Virginia Commonwealth University. She is licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Clinical Social Worker and holds certifications as an Addictions Specialist and Cognitive Behavioral Specialist. With more than 30 years in private practice, Elizabeth is certified to provide supervision for license-eligible clinical social workers.
A lifelong Lynchburg resident, Elizabeth currently serves as the Mental Health Consultant for Virginia Episcopal School and has a special interest in traumatic brain injury recovery. She enjoys reading, American history, and involvement with her church. She volunteers with Beacon of Hope and serves as a coordinator of Social Workers of Central Virginia.
Melisa Stone, LPC
Melisa Stone graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelor's degree in therapeutic recreation and earned her Master of Education degree in agency counseling from Lynchburg College. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Substance Abuse Counselor, and is certified to provide clinical supervision to license-eligible counselors.
Melisa brings more than 35 years of clinical experience, including 21 years with Centra Health across psychiatric, rehabilitation, and acute care settings, and 15 years at Pathways Treatment Center working with chemically dependent adults and their families. She has contributed numerous presentations and articles on addiction to regional publications. Melisa enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, reading, scrapbooking, traveling, and being involved in her church.
Barbara Jannah, LCSW
Barbara Jannah graduated from the University of Mary Washington with a Bachelor's degree in psychology and earned her Master's degree in clinical social work from Tulane University. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the Commonwealth of Virginia with over 25 years in private practice. Barbara is a member of Centra Health's Medical Staff and previously served as a family therapist with Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and as a therapist at Piedmont Psychiatric Center.
Barbara has a strong interest in research and participated in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5) field trials as a collaborating investigator. She has additional experience in critical incident stress debriefings, disaster relief, and facilitating equine-assisted psychotherapy and learning sessions. Barbara has a special interest in neuroscience, particularly understanding mental health as a biologically based function of the brain. She enjoys working on her small farm and spending time with animals and birds of all types.
The clinicians at James River Counseling Center are independent practitioners who maintain their own professional liability insurance. Each clinician is solely responsible for the services they provide.
Staff
Olivia Zuckero
Olivia Zuckero joined James River Counseling Center in 2024 as our full-time office manager. She is skilled in working with insurance companies and helping clients understand and access their health insurance benefits.
Olivia is available to assist with scheduling appointments and answering questions related to the business side of our practice. She provides a warm and welcoming presence in our office and is dedicated to helping clients feel comfortable as they seek counseling services.

Daniel Hall, PhD, LPC
Dr. Daniel Hall earned a PhD in Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG), an MBA from the University of Lynchburg, an MA in Counseling from Wake Forest University, a BS in Human Development & Family Studies from UNCG, and a BS in Psychology from Appalachian State University. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over a decade of clinical experience, primarily in private practice, and served as a clinician at James River Counseling Center from 2019 to 2024.
Daniel is a registered supervisor of residency for counselors and marriage and family therapists. He currently serves as a higher education administrator and tenured Counselor Education professor. Daniel and his wife, Morgan, are co-owners of James River Counseling Center.

Morgan Hall, MSW
Morgan Hall earned her MSW from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a BSW from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, she practiced in a community outpatient setting with a focus on children and families, then transitioned to a managed care organization where she coordinated care for Medicare and Medicaid recipients.
Morgan currently works for a local non-profit in Lynchburg. She and her husband, Daniel, are co-owners of James River Counseling Center.
